At its core, Sodexo values respect, fairness, and inclusion, fostering a culture where diversity is embraced, and every employee feels valued and heard. The company's commitment to social, economic, and environmental progress is reflected in its everyday operations and community partnerships.

Tarleton State University, located in Texas, collaborates with Sodexo to enhance campus life by providing exceptional food services and facilities management. As part of this partnership, Sodexo seeks a dedicated Utility Worker to join their team on a part-time basis with a pay range of $12.00 to $14.00 per hour. This role supports kitchen and facility operations by maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in food production and service areas. The position is critical for ensuring food safety and the smooth functioning of the kitchen environment.

The Utility Worker will carry out a range of tasks including dishwashing by hand or using dishwashing machines, cleaning and sanitizing worktables, walls, refrigerators, and other surfaces, sweeping and mopping floors, removing trash, and replenishing cleaning supplies. The role requires significant mobility, the ability to stand or walk for extended periods, and the capability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds occasionally. Open availability for varying shifts is preferred to accommodate the dynamic operational needs of the University’s food service areas.

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED, have a basic understanding of sanitation and food safety, and demonstrate reliability by attending scheduled shifts punctually with satisfactory regularity. While prior work experience is not mandatory, a willingness to learn and adhere to health standards is essential. Sodexo provides comprehensive training opportunities to help employees grow their skills and advance their careers.

Working as a Utility Worker at Sodexo offers more than just employment; it provides an opportunity to be part of a purpose-driven organization committed to creating better lives for its employees and the communities it serves. Sodexo’s supportive work environment emphasizes flexibility to help employees balance work and life commitments, making it an appealing workplace for those seeking meaningful part-time work with room for growth.

Additionally, Sodexo offers a complete benefits package that includes paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, a 401k plan, and various discount programs. Some locations may also provide site-specific perks such as free meals or meal allowances, uniforms, safety shoes, and support with public transportation or parking. Sodexo strives to maintain transparency about its benefits and encourages candidates to discuss any questions about offerings during the interview process.

Overall, this position is an excellent opportunity for those who value teamwork, diversity, and making a tangible impact through their daily work.
