The role of Utility Steward/Dishwasher at Hilton San Diego Bayfront involves a key operational position within the hotel’s food and beverage department. This full-time position comes with a competitive pay rate of $26.55 per hour and requires open availability, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays. As a Utility Steward, your primary responsibility will be supporting the culinary and banquet teams by ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of all cooking utensils, chinaware, silverware, and service ware – essential to maintaining the high standards of hygiene and service expected by Hilton guests. This role requires physical stamina, as duties include bending, stooping, walking, and lifting or pushing items up to 50 lbs. You will be a crucial part of the team responsible for operating dishwashers, scrubbing pots and pans, polishing silver, maintaining stocks and cleaning supplies, and preparing service ware for special events. Additionally, you will contribute to a seamless guest experience by efficiently managing back-of-house tidiness, waste disposal, and supporting other stewards through training as needed.

Job Requirements
- Minimum of one year experience in housekeeping and/or janitorial services
- ability to bend, stoop, walk and lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
- work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays
- basic ability to read English language including safety labels and instructions

Job Duties
- Wash dishes and operate the dishwasher to clean all chinaware, silverware and cooking utensils
- scrub pots and pans
- burnish, de-tarnish and polish silver
- stock and maintain supplies and equipment
- perform cleaning duties including mopping and removing trash
- transport and store clean service ware
- train other stewards as needed
- prepare and place clean service ware for events and functions
