Job Requirements

  • minimum 2 years experience in hotel or high-volume restaurant as steward preferred
  • ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • ability to bend, twist, stoop, and reach overhead and below knee levels
  • willingness to work part time and on call
  • adherence to company safety and security policies
  • ability to report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions

Job Qualifications

  • no high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
  • no related work experience required
  • no supervisory experience required
  • ability to follow safety policies and procedures
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Job Duties

  • operate and maintain cleaning equipment including dish washing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor
  • wash and disinfect kitchen and store room areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
  • receive deliveries and store perishables properly
  • rotate stock
  • use detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals in the 3-compartment sink to clean dishes
  • inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items
  • send soiled items back for re-scrubbing and re-washing
  • rack and spray all racked items with hot water to loosen and remove food residue
  • sort, soak, wash and re-wash silverware
  • breakdown dirty bus tubs
  • empty and maintain trashcans and dumpster area
  • clean and mop all areas in assigned departments
  • dispose of glass in proper containers
  • break down cardboard boxes and place recyclables in recycle bin
  • follow safety and security policies and report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions
  • develop positive working relationships with others and support team goals
  • move, lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors
