This specific position is within Cargill's Food Enterprise, a division focused on serving food manufacturers, food service customers, and retailers by offering a comprehensive range of innovative ingredients and branded products. The role is a full-time, first-shift opportunity with a competitive hourly wage starting at $19.61 and increasing to $20.61 after the probation period. In this role, employees will be responsible for maintaining facility operations and safety standards through various housekeeping tasks such as shoveling product, sweeping, and washing. The job requires the operation of plant utilities and mobile equipment including forklifts and scissor lifts, following a master sanitation schedule to ensure cleanliness and efficiency. Collaboration and communication with peers and management are encouraged to optimize operations and foster a culture of teamwork. Employees must adhere strictly to all safety policies and maintain a clean, safe working environment. Physical demands include working in varied indoor and outdoor conditions and performing duties that require bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED or minimum of two years equivalent work experience
  • experience operating forklifts and/or similar equipment
  • experience working in a production or plant environment
  • ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing
  • basic computer skills

Job Duties

  • completing and maintaining facility operations and safety by performing housekeeping assignments such as shoveling product, sweeping and/or washing
  • ability to operate plant utilities for master sanitation schedule
  • interacting regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement of facility operations and promote a teamwork focused environment
  • operating mobile equipment such as forklifts, scissor lift, etc.
  • understanding and adhering to all safety policies and procedures
  • maintaining a safe and clean work environment
  • other duties as assigned
