Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in hotel or related field preferred
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required
- Medium work - exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as pool cleaning equipment, carpet extractors, floor scrubbers, and power washers
- Ability to stand for entire shift
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Attend all required meetings and trainings
- Maintain regular attendance
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing uniform and personal protective equipment
- Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations
- Ability to handle, anticipate and solve problems
- Must be able to understand and apply complex information
- Show initiative and anticipate guest or operational needs
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a hotel or related field preferred
- Previous housekeeping experience highly preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Effective listening skills to understand and clarify concerns
- Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
- Friendly, courteous, and service-oriented attitude
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
- Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas
Job Duties
- Use proper two-way radio etiquette when communicating with other employees
- Use provided hotel software system to properly track work assignments and guest requests
- Practice safe work habits to ensure safety to guests, fellow employees and self
- Handle items for Lost and Found according to Highgate Hotel Standards
- Turn in all keys, assignment sheets, and communication devices to the Housekeeping Office at the end of the shift
- Report maintenance issues to Housekeeping Clerk, Supervisor, or Manager
- Be familiar with Highgate Hotel guestroom cleaning procedures and assist as needed
- Deliver clean linen to assigned sections if necessary
- Pick up and deliver linen
- Pick up and dispose of trash
- Collect all trash from service landings and dispose of it in outside trash dumpsters as per procedures
- Vacuum guest corridors
- Deliver and stock supplies and amenities and maintain proper inventories
- Ensure proper chemical usage
- Keep hallways, public areas, and closets neat and organized
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in public restrooms
- Adhere to schedule for project cleaning of public areas
- Maintain stairwells to hotel standards
- Keep ash urns clean and filled with sand
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction
