The position offered is a Delivery Driver role that plays a vital part in America’s food supply chain. As a delivery driver for Performance Foodservice, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and safe delivery of products, maintaining customer satisfaction, and representing the company professionally at all times. This role operates on a schedule of Monday to Friday with rotating Saturdays, with dispatch times between 4 am and 6 am. Responsibilities include conducting all required safety inspections on trucks and trailers according to Department of Transportation regulations, securing freight properly, verifying product loads against customer invoices, and maintaining accurate and legible paperwork. The driver also ensures compliance with driving regulations, maintains safety standards during loading and unloading, and may assist newer drivers with training when route coverage is not required. The role requires basic typing and computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes. Importantly, drivers must be able to obtain doubles endorsements within six months of employment to expand the scope of their driving responsibilities.
