Job Description

SSP America operates several restaurants within the Bradley International Airport, delivering high-quality food services to thousands of travelers each day. As a leader in airport dining, SSP America is committed to maintaining an exceptional guest experience through cleanliness, safety, and outstanding customer service across all its food service units. The company values its employees and offers a supportive work environment with comprehensive benefits, including 401K matching, an employee meal plan, and an employee assistance program. They are currently seeking part-time Utility workers who will play a vital role in sustaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards that are essential not only for guest satisfaction but also for the overall health and safety of the restaurants and their teams.

The Utility position at SSP America is focused on ensuring that all restaurants within the airport maintain a pristine environment. This role involves cleaning and maintaining various surfaces and equipment, such as floors, ceiling tiles, walls, windows, worktables, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, and storage areas. Utility workers are also responsible for removing refuse to designated areas, clearing and resetting tables between seatings, and transporting service ware to the kitchen for washing. The cleaning process extends to the careful hand washing of pots, pans, and dishes or loading dishwashers, ensuring all kitchen equipment complies with strict sanitary standards. This position may require the use of specific chemicals and heavy equipment to meet these standards.

Utility workers serve as the backbone of the dining experience at the airport, as they assist guests by responding to specific requests and effectively communicating special needs to servers or supervisors. The role includes logistical tasks such as loading and unloading supply trucks and managing inventory by stocking, dating, rotating, and checking the temperature of food items to maintain freshness and safety compliance. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work and contribute to creating a positive and safe environment for travelers and fellow staff members.

This part-time role requires weekend availability and offers competitive pay at $16.94 per hour, plus an estimated $5.08 per hour in benefits. Candidates can expect to be part of a dynamic and fast-paced work environment where attention to detail and dedication to hygiene is critical. SSP America supports career growth and fosters inclusive hiring practices, being an equal opportunity employer that respects diversity and accommodates applicants with disabilities throughout the hiring process. This position offers more than just a job; it offers a chance to be part of a well-respected company known for quality and service within the airport community.
