Job Description
Torchy's Tacos is a vibrant and fast-growing restaurant chain that originated in Austin, Texas, in 2006. Beginning as a humble food trailer with a dedicated executive chef, Torchy's has now expanded to operate numerous restaurants nationwide, bringing its distinctive and flavorful Tex-Mex cuisine to a wide audience. Known for its commitment to high-quality ingredients, innovative menu items, and a lively dining ambiance, Torchy's has cultivated a loyal customer base and continues to thrive as a popular destination for casual dining experiences.
Torchy's Tacos prides itself on creating a welcoming atmosphere for both guests and employees. As a Utility Team Member, you will play a vital role in maintaining this environment by ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and efficiency of the restaurant's front of house and kitchen operations. This position is a blend of busser and dishwasher responsibilities, requiring you to support both dining and kitchen areas, which keeps the restaurant running smoothly and efficiently.
Your daily tasks will include sweeping and mopping the dining room, bathrooms, and back-of-house areas, cleaning windows and walkways, and promptly addressing spills to maintain a safe environment. Additionally, you will pre-bus tables to keep dining areas tidy, restock service stations, clean bathrooms before and throughout service hours, and assist customers as needed. Outside duties may also include picking up trash in the parking lot and power washing exterior areas according to management directives.
On the kitchen side, your dishwasher responsibilities will involve cleaning and sanitizing all food preparation and service items, managing the three-compartment sink with proper chemical dilution, and ensuring the dishwashing station remains organized and clean. You'll also help organize pots, pans, and stock in the walk-in cooler, assist with kitchen prep or line duties when required, and prioritize cleaning the most commonly used dishes to support efficient kitchen operations.
Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks involving standing for extended periods, lifting up to 40 pounds, bending, stretching, and reaching are essential for this role. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $14.00 to $16.00, based on experience, with tips shared on top. Flexible scheduling is provided to accommodate your lifestyle.
Torchy's offers a range of excellent benefits for full-time team members after one year of employment, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as access to a 401(k) plan after six months. Paid time off is also provided after one year. Team members receive a discount card for delicious food benefits for themselves and their spouses. Torchy's Family Foundation further supports employees during times of personal need and crisis, underscoring the company’s commitment to its team.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy contributing to a dynamic restaurant environment, take pride in maintaining cleanliness and order, and thrive in a team-oriented setting. At Torchy's Tacos, your contribution as a Utility Team Member directly supports memorable guest experiences and the overall success of the restaurant. If you’re motivated, dependable, and looking for an opportunity in the hospitality industry with growth potential, Torchy's welcomes you to join their team.
