The Utility Associate role at HMSHost offers a vital support position within this dynamic company. This non-exempt role focuses primarily on maintaining sanitary standards throughout various work areas by performing cleaning duties and assisting with stock management. The Utility Associate is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment including work tables, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other essential kitchen tools. In addition, this position involves washing utensils, pots, and pans either by hand or through dishwashing machines, ensuring all items are returned to their proper locations for seamless kitchen operations.
Beyond cleaning, the Utility Associate also handles waste management responsibilities such as removing trash to designated areas and maintaining the cleanliness of walls, windows, and trashcans through steam cleaning. The role requires physical stamina as it involves sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and buffing floors using heavy equipment and performing other tasks like checking stock for proper dating and temperature control. The associate also plays a key part in supply chain logistics by loading and unloading supply trucks and transferring supplies and equipment between storage and work areas safely and efficiently.
