The Utility / Dishwasher will be tasked with cleaning floors, walls, ceilings, windows, vents, grills, refrigerators, counters, and storage areas, among others. They will also be responsible for removing refuse, assisting with table clearing and resetting, and ensuring dishes and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and stored. The role also involves the use of specific cleaning chemicals and potentially handling heavy equipment to comply with strict sanitary standards. SSP America values team players who communicate effectively with servers and supervisors to meet guest needs and maintain operational efficiency. Additionally, the Utility / Dishwasher will assist with stock management, including loading and unloading supply trucks, rotating stock, checking food temperatures, and other assigned duties. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar custodial or kitchen role preferred
- Ability to work full-time hours
- Must be able to handle physical demands including lifting heavy items
- Knowledge of sanitary standards and safety procedures
- Willingness to work in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors
- Flexible availability to meet shift requirements
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in a food service or similar cleaning role is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness

- Ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
Job Duties
- Create a positive guest experience by cleaning and maintaining hygienic work areas
- Maintain the cleanliness of all surfaces and equipment including floors, ceiling tiles, walls, windows, worktables, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, storage areas
- Remove refuse to designated areas
- Clear and reset tables in dining areas between seatings and transport service-ware to the kitchen for cleaning
- Scrape food from dirty dishes, pots, and pans and wash them by hand or load dishwasher and return them to their proper storage place
- Clean equipment using specific chemicals to meet sanitary standards including the use of heavy equipment
- Assist all guests with specific requests and communicate special needs to server or supervisor
- Load and unload supply trucks transferring between storage and work areas
- Stock, date, rotate, and check the temperature of food items
- Perform other duties as assigned
