Job Requirements

  • Must pass physical capacity evaluation
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and move up to 25 pounds frequently
  • ability to stand, walk, handle and operate tools regularly
  • RETA CIRO certification within two years required
  • physical ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and balance
  • ability to work in loud environments with exposure to chemicals, temperature extremes and moving mechanical parts
  • ability to be on call 24/7
  • Sunday-Thursday work schedule from 11 PM to 7:30 AM with shift differentials
  • commitment to complete required training programs
  • must have high school diploma or GED
  • ability to read and write in English

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or GED
  • RETA or CIRO certification preferred
  • completion of Nestle Refrigeration training matrix within first two years required
  • ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, policies and procedures
  • ability to write simple correspondence
  • ability to present information effectively in small group situations
  • good computer knowledge
  • ability to understand and operate internal inventory systems
  • strong problem-solving skills with ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions
  • ability to work with contractors and team members
  • ability to uphold safety and quality standards

Job Duties

  • Operate and maintain ammonia/CO2 refrigeration system
  • operate and maintain steam and hot water boiler systems
  • operate and maintain hot water heating systems
  • operate and maintain glycol systems
  • operate and maintain HVAC systems
  • maintain fire protection system
  • maintain compressed air systems
  • maintain safety systems
  • work with contractors as needed
  • complete all required documentation and system transactions
  • maintain quality control per company guidelines
  • perform all job duties in accordance with safety guidelines
  • perform job rotations depending on production needs
  • dispose of trash and clean work area thoroughly
  • work any assignment as directed by supervisor
  • work overtime as assigned
  • assure regular and timely attendance
  • participate in ongoing training
  • other duties as assigned
  • perform maintenance and repair to HVAC and industrial NH3 refrigeration systems
  • troubleshoot and repair refrigeration components including valves, pumps, electrical controls, compressors
  • participate in OSHA PSM/RMP and HAZMAT programs
