Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Six months retail experience including operating front-end equipment
  • Six months customer service experience
  • Ability to assist with supervising and training associates
  • Ability to handle member service issues and complaints
  • Ability to complete accounting and financial documentation accurately and confidentially
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Must be willing to support company policies and ethical standards
  • Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Preferred leadership experience in retail supervision

Job Qualifications

  • Supervising experience including hiring, evaluating, mentoring, developing, and managing workload of others

Job Duties

  • Assist management with supervising associates in assigned area by assigning duties, communicating goals and feedback, training associates on processes and procedures, providing direction and guidance on member service approaches and techniques, resolving member complaints and issues according to company guidelines, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, supporting the Open Door Policy, participating in recruiting, hiring, scheduling, promoting, coaching, and evaluating associates
  • Communicate and support membership by providing information on membership types, programs and benefits to members and prospects, processing memberships, upgrades and credit accounts, encouraging renewals, participating in sales and marketing events, maintaining marketing recaps and documentation, promoting the value of Sam's Club products and services
  • Provide member service by acknowledging members, identifying needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, supporting self-service technology, assisting with transactions through registers or self-checkout, ensuring club pickup orders are filled
  • Oversee assigned areas by handling claims and returns, zoning, organizing merchandise, identifying shrink and damages, maintaining availability of carts and flatbeds, assisting members with transporting items, maintaining parking lot cleanliness
  • Complete accounting records and documentation by following office procedures, preparing daily deposits, investigating cash overages and shortages, maintaining confidentiality of financial information
  • Develop and implement processes to meet business needs by collaborating with managers and coworkers, analyzing information, monitoring results, and addressing improvement opportunities
  • Demonstrate and promote compliance with company policies, ethics and integrity, assist management in correcting ethical issues
  • Lead and participate in teams by sharing resources, coordinating work, providing feedback and support, modeling adaptability
  • Embrace and promote a culture of respect and inclusion among associates, build strong relationships, motivate and influence others, recognize contributions
