Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Eligibility to work in the US
- 1-2 years experience in customer service preferably in liner or container imports or exports
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Willingness to train on shipping documentation systems and customs processes
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1-2 years of customer service experience preferably in liner or container shipping imports/exports
- Foundational knowledge of port operations
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Ability to balance multiple tasks and operate in a deadline-oriented environment
- Clear and concise written communication skills
Job Duties
- Prepare and distribute manifests, stowage plans, hatch lists, and container plans to relevant parties
- Dispatch timely arrival notices to importers and brokers
- Prepare and reconcile wharfage statements and payments
- Coordinate in-house lineups for ship operations including receipt of original bills and payments
- Update brokers on vessel arrivals, customs clearances, and ocean freight statuses
- Post vessel arrival information in US Customs AMS system
- Manage government holds and inspections until removal
- Liaise with principals and cargo receivers to facilitate customs clearance and cargo release
- Follow up on bills without entry in AMS within 15 days
- Troubleshoot discrepancies and comply with principal policies
- Arrange and follow equipment digital downloads
- Handle cargo claims and joint survey requests
- Maintain trucker interchange agreements and insurance certificates
- Update container gate activity and equipment moves
- Maintain equipment inventories
- Train on AMS manifest processing and BAPLIE filing
- Prepare outbound manifests for empty containers
- File Shipper's Export Declarations with USCBP
- Update carrier systems with load empty moves
- Train on AES filings for carriers
