Job Description

The University of North Texas (UNT) System is a prominent educational institution in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, encompassing multiple campuses including UNT in Denton and Frisco, UNT at Dallas and its College of Law, and UNT Health in Fort Worth. As the only university system based exclusively in this vibrant region, UNT is a dynamic and growing educational community that employs over 14,000 individuals and educates more than 49,000 students. Each year, the system awards nearly 12,000 degrees, underscoring its commitment to academic excellence and community development. UNT's values emphasize a people-first, values-based culture rooted in respect, belonging, and access, striving to be better together and demonstrating courageous integrity by maintaining high standards and acting in the community's best interest. This culture fosters innovation, learning, and a passion for excellence among its employees.

Within this expansive system, the UNT Dining Services department stands out as a leader in campus dining innovation, recognized nationally for its culinary excellence and commitment to sustainability and health-conscious food options. With extensive facilities including five dining halls, over 20 retail locations, a hydroponic garden, a central scratch bakery, and full-service catering, UNT Dining Services is more than just a food service provider; it is a trendsetter in university dining. It operates notable dining concepts such as Mean Greens Café, the first 100% vegan collegiate dining hall in the nation, and Kitchen West, the only university dining hall in Texas certified Free From the Big 8 food allergens and gluten. Eagle Landing, introduced in 2021, offers a unique urban food hall experience, featuring seven restaurant concepts accessible through a single meal plan swipe. UNT Dining’s reputation includes national rankings and awards, reflecting its innovative menu and dedication to sustainable, plant-forward diets and food waste reduction.

The Food Service Supervisor position at Qdoba Mexican Eats within UNT Retail Dining Services located in Denton is a critical leadership role responsible for managing the daily operations of the restaurant. This position ensures the highest standards of food quality, safety, and customer service are consistently achieved. The supervisor leads by example, supporting and training staff, managing scheduling and inventory, and enforcing compliance with university and health regulations. This role not only focuses on operational excellence but also fosters a collaborative work environment that promotes positive engagement with customers and team members alike. The ideal candidate will bring strong supervisory experience gained in fast-casual dining environments, preferably with knowledge of Qdoba or similar concepts, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering a superior dining experience. Employees in this role benefit from the supportive culture of UNT and have opportunities to grow within a nationally recognized university dining operation. This full-time role offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and includes eligibility for the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) benefits.
