Job Requirements

  • Completion of some high school or equivalent courses
  • Active and unexpired CPR certification
  • Willingness to work with elderly population
  • Ability to follow care plans and report resident changes
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and transferring residents
  • Reliable communication skills
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
  • Willingness to undergo on-the-job training
  • Ability to handle assigned housekeeping duties
  • Ability to manage responsibilities such as keys, pagers, and radios

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of some high school or equivalent courses
  • Active and unexpired CPR certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
  • Familiarity and willingness to work with elderly population
  • Previous elder care experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Assists with resident care needs including toileting, ambulation, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, escorting, and transferring
  • Understands resident alert status and reports changes immediately
  • Follows residents' interim service plans and adapts to changing care needs
  • Notifies Resident Care Coordinator, Administrator, or Health Services Director of condition changes
  • Assists in dining room setup, meal and beverage service, and cleanup
  • Supports and escorts residents to scheduled activities
  • Prepares residents for appointments and transports them to the lobby
  • Recognizes changes in condition and reports to designated staff
  • Delivers and restocks incontinent supplies
  • Handles resident laundry duties
  • Collects and disposes of trash appropriately
  • Demonstrates or learns proper use of care equipment such as gait belts and oxygen devices
  • Takes accurate vital signs and weights
  • Performs housekeeping duties including dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms
  • Maintains cleanliness of resident apartments
  • Reports safety hazards to maintenance and management
  • Completes incident reports accurately
  • Covers receptionist duties as directed
  • Answers call lights promptly
  • Maintains responsibility for pagers, keys, and radios while on duty
