Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year related customer service experience
  • Ability to work weekends including Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Adherence to patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
  • Reliable and consistent attendance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year related customer service experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Two years related work experience preferred
  • Associates degree preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Receives calls and customer requests and relays information to appropriate parties
  • Understands and complies with patient confidentiality requirements and HIPAA
  • Performs order transcription and computer order entry
  • Enters patient charges and ensures charges are complete and accurate
  • Files forms and reports in patients' medical records
  • Copies medical records for patient transfers
  • Verifies unit census
  • Maintains patient assessment log
  • Disseminates patient assignment information to appropriate parties
  • Orders and stocks chart forms and other supplies for the unit
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance
