Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year related customer service experience
- Ability to work weekends including Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Effective time management skills
- Ability to work independently
- Adherence to patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
- Reliable and consistent attendance
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year related customer service experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Two years related work experience preferred
- Associates degree preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
Job Duties
- Receives calls and customer requests and relays information to appropriate parties
- Understands and complies with patient confidentiality requirements and HIPAA
- Performs order transcription and computer order entry
- Enters patient charges and ensures charges are complete and accurate
- Files forms and reports in patients' medical records
- Copies medical records for patient transfers
- Verifies unit census
- Maintains patient assessment log
- Disseminates patient assignment information to appropriate parties
- Orders and stocks chart forms and other supplies for the unit
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance
