Job Requirements

  • high school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent work experience in related field
  • at least 1-year clerical experience in fast-paced healthcare setting including scheduling, answering phones, typing, filing
  • basic understanding of insurance requirements
  • knowledge and experience with medical terminology
  • basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to maintain a positive professional demeanor in a demanding environment
  • excellent customer service skills
  • ability to quickly comprehend new techniques and concepts and adapt readily to change

Job Duties

  • reviewing orders from physicians and scheduling therapy accordingly
  • providing clear and accurate instructions to patients regarding upcoming appointments
  • verifying insurance type and assuring required authorizations are in place for worker's compensation and state and county programs
  • entering complete and accurate data utilizing computer technology
  • ensuring existing data is accurate
  • managing therapist and physician schedules to be as full and compactly scheduled as possible
  • maintaining a positive and professional demeanor in a demanding environment
