Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • medical office assistant certificate or prior unit clerk experience preferred
  • de-escalation training (obtained CPI within six months of employment) in required specialty
  • bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • good computer skills
  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • BLS preferred
  • ability to work in high-stress environment
  • ability to multi-task
  • refer to Nursing Policy IV-F.3

Job Duties

  • Perform clerical and receptionist duties on the nursing unit
  • coordinate communication between patients, nursing staff, and other departments
  • maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • manage scheduling and administrative support tasks
  • assist nursing staff with clerical needs
  • handle multi-line phone systems and direct calls efficiently
  • support smooth operation of the nursing unit
