This job opportunity is for the position of Food & Beverage Server within Hyatt Vacation Ownership. This role is hourly paid at a rate of $16.50, and it offers the chance to join a team that values hospitality excellence. The Food & Beverage Server is a crucial member of the dining service team, responsible for ensuring guests enjoy a seamless and pleasant dining experience. The position primarily involves preparing stations and tables for service, accurately taking and serving food and beverage orders, and maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the shift.

In this role, the server must utilize suggestive selling techniques to enhance the guest experience and maximize revenue. The server is expected to manage multiple tables efficiently by pre-busing and clearing tables promptly while ensuring that guest service standards and timing are consistently met. The responsibility extends to accurately entering orders into the point-of-sale system and processing payments correctly. Ensuring customer satisfaction is a priority, and the server should be proactive in identifying and resolving any guest concerns during service.

Hyatt Vacation Ownership places great emphasis on knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding alcohol service, requiring servers to adhere strictly to policies related to serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated patrons. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience as a food server in a casual full-service restaurant environment and possess strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a food server within a casual full-service restaurant environment required
  • Must be able to speak read write and understand the primary language English used in the workplace
  • Ability to work weekends holidays and a flex shift if needed
  • Knowledge of federal state and local laws ordinances and regulations and policy regarding serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated patrons

Job Duties

  • Ensures station and table set-ups are complete replenished and ready for service at the start of the shift and performs side duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage leadership team buffing glassware silverware roll-ups etc
  • Accurately takes food and beverage orders and serves all food and beverage requests while utilizing a suggestive-selling technique and adhering to service timing standards
  • Pre-bus all tables throughout the guests dining service and ensure that tables are cleared upon the completion of the guests service
  • Enter guest orders into the point-of-sale accurately present guests with completed guest checks and secure process proper payment methods
  • Routinely ensure that the guests experience is satisfactory and initiate recoveries when presented with guest-issues
  • Maintain proper condition and cleanliness of dining areas and guest-service equipment
