The company prides itself on providing accessible and convenient moving equipment, self-storage units, and related services that help people move, rent, and store with ease and confidence. Founded in 1945, U-Haul has grown into an essential part of the moving industry, celebrated for its customer-first philosophy and commitment to innovation and community support. Operating as a leader in the moving and storage sector, U-Haul is dedicated to maintaining high standards of customer care, operational efficiency, and employee satisfaction.

The company is currently seeking a motivated and responsible General Manager to oversee one of its moving and storage centers located at 17350 Cattle Dr, Rough and Ready, California. This full-time employment opportunity offers an hourly wage of $18.00 to $22.00, supplemented by unique incentives such as a $100 hiring bonus and an additional $300 completion bonus upon successful participation in U-Haul's Equipment Inspection and Verification program. As a General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the profitability and efficient functioning of the center by managing staff, overseeing inventory, and handling equipment maintenance. This position requires someone who can multi-task in a fast-paced environment and solve problems proactively to ensure smooth operations.

The role of General Manager at U-Haul is dynamic and rewarding, offering the chance to lead a team while contributing to the company’s success and reputation for excellent service. The successful candidate will have direct responsibility for managing the equipment fleet to ensure it is clean and well-maintained, conducting profit and loss analyses to optimize financial outcomes, and leading efforts to hire, train, and mentor team members. The General Manager is also entrusted with tracking inventory, managing budgets, maintaining customer satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. U-Haul emphasizes employee development through ongoing learning opportunities via U-Haul University, supporting career stability and advancement.

Along with a competitive salary, U-Haul provides an extensive benefits package, including full medical coverage, prescription plans, dental and vision insurance, and a registered dietitian program for eligible employees. Other perks include gym reimbursement, virtual doctor visits, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, employee stock ownership plans, and 401(k) savings plans. Employees also have access to educational resources like tuition reimbursement and free online courses for personal and professional growth. Additional benefits like legal programs, identity theft protection, discounts, and wellness programs further enhance the work experience. U-Haul fosters a healthy, inclusive, and supportive work culture committed to employee well-being and equal opportunity employment, with accommodations available to ensure accessibility throughout the hiring process.
