Job Description

Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI) is a well-established leader in the transportation sector, founded in 1991 by Dot Foods, a pioneer in the food industry supply chain. With a robust fleet consisting of over 1,500 trucks, DTI operates with its own team of highly trained mechanics to maintain top-notch vehicle conditions. This commitment to quality service and driver care has propelled DTI to be a best-in-class trucking company known for reliability, safety, and exceptional employee retention, boasting zero layoffs in its history. Located in Liverpool, NY, DTI offers a dynamic and supportive work environment tailored to individuals who thrive on the open road and prefer a life outside of a traditional office setting.

At DTI, you will get the unique chance to earn while you learn, participating in a comprehensive CDL training program where your tuition is covered. This program not only provides hands-on experience but also positions you for a successful career as a professional truck driver. Depending on your experience and job type, your starting pay as a driver can range from $67,000 to $96,000 in your first year, coupled with bonuses and incentive opportunities designed to reward your dedication and performance.

The driving schedules offered by DTI are flexible yet demanding, requiring a minimum of 3-4 overnights per week in the truck, with opportunities to choose from various scheduling options that suit your lifestyle and family needs. Drivers are expected to work in all weather conditions and at different times of the day, including weekdays, weekends, days, and nights.

As a DTI driver, your primary responsibility will be to operate company equipment safely and efficiently to transport products. This involves following all stringent legal and regulatory requirements set forth by the Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and other governing bodies to ensure compliant operations. Duties also include loading and unloading goods (except for specific no-touch freight jobs), managing fuel purchases and idle times to maximize fuel efficiency, and meticulously handling load paperwork with a strong attention to detail.

Physical fitness is part of the role, as the job entails varying levels of physical activity such as sitting, walking, or standing during work hours, and safely lifting weights typically between 14 and 60 pounds. A mindset prioritizing safety underpins all operations at DTI, reflecting the company’s commitment to maintaining a secure working environment for its staff.

Joining DTI means becoming part of a company that values its employees not just as drivers but as vital members of the team. The company is focused on career growth, competitive benefits, and offering a work-life balance through flexible scheduling options. If you have a passion for driving, a safety-first approach, and a willingness to meet the practical demands of this career, DTI provides an excellent platform to develop a fulfilling and lucrative professional path.
