This full-time local Class A CDL Truck Driver position at Penske Logistics offers an excellent opportunity for professional drivers who are ready to advance their careers in a stable and dynamic environment. As a floater driver, you will cover multiple routes, requiring flexibility and dependability to ensure the smooth operation of daily logistics.

Drivers will operate late-model Penske trucks, equipped with premium features designed for driver comfort and safety. These vehicles include inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras to enhance security, XM Satellite radio subscription for entertainment, and are maintained under Penske’s high standards through Penske Truck Leasing. The position requires frequent interaction with customers, where professionalism and courteous communication are paramount. Typical duties include delivering materials, using a Moffett forklift to unload trailers, and managing 8 to 12 stops weekly. The schedule generally follows Monday through Friday with Saturday shifts as needed, starting as early as 3 am, with dispatch details provided a day in advance.

Job Requirements

  • Follow all federal or state laws, regulations and agency rules
  • Regular predictable full attendance
  • Work required schedule and location
  • Complete Penske employment application
  • Submit to background and drug screening
  • Ability to accept responsibility for safety
  • Must be able to see and hear with specific vision abilities
  • Frequent moving, standing, walking, sitting
  • Able to lift and move up to 50lbs regularly and 100lbs occasionally
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and enter/exit vehicle and cargo area safely

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL required
  • Currently hold or ability to obtain a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
  • One year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years or two years in the last 5 years
  • Three years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
  • English language proficiency
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner

Job Duties

  • Deliver construction materials to customer locations
  • Use Moffett forklift to unload trailer
  • Make an average of 8 to 12 stops per week
  • Maintain professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers
