As a Full-time Local Class A CDL Truck Driver at Penske Logistics, you will be an essential part of a team dedicated to delivering products efficiently and safely to customers. This role offers a competitive wage of $24.75 per hour and provides the opportunity to operate late-model Penske Truck Leasing trucks equipped with best-in-class specifications designed for maximum driver comfort and safety. Featuring inward and outward facing in-cab cameras, these trucks uphold the highest safety standards.

In this position, drivers are assigned a dedicated route involving local delivery of auto parts with an average of 5 to 6 stops per week, focusing primarily on drop and hook work. The role emphasizes reliability, professionalism, and courteous interaction with customers while allowing drivers to return home daily. The work schedule follows a consistent 5-day workweek Monday through Saturday, with dispatch times subject to variation depending on coverage needs.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Class A CDL
  • U.S. domicile and state license
  • Non-excepted interstate DOT medical card or ability to obtain
  • Minimum 1 year tractor-trailer experience in last 3 years or 2 years in last 5 years
  • Clean driving record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents in past 3 years
  • Compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations
  • Regular and predictable full attendance
  • English language proficiency
  • Completion of employment application, background check, and drug screen
  • Ability to maintain safety for self and others
  • Physical ability to perform job duties including lifting up to 100lbs
  • Legal authorization to operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to frequently enter/exit vehicles and cargo areas

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL required
  • Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
  • Ability to obtain a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
  • 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years or 2 years in the last 5 years
  • 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
  • English language proficiency
  • Ability to work according to required schedule and location
  • Completion of background investigation and drug screening
  • Ability to work safely and remain alert during operations

Job Duties

  • Drive late model, Penske Truck Leasing trucks equipped for comfort and safety
  • Drop and hook, shuttling auto parts
  • Manage an average of 5 to 6 stops per week on a dedicated local route
  • Maintain professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers
  • Adhere to local schedules allowing for daily home time
  • Follow all federal and state regulations while operating the vehicle
  • Participate in safety incentive and driver recognition programs
