Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 6 months commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL-A license
- Meet relevant state licensing/certification requirements
- Clean motor vehicle report for last 3 years
- Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Current or attainable DOT health card
- Ability to hand-lift and use equipment to move product cases weighing between 10 and 90 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- 6+ months commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL-A license
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attains or has valid current DOT health card and/or able to secure new DOT health card
- Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move and stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight
Job Duties
- Performs all required safety checks including pre and post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
- Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Immediately reports all safety hazards and inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Performs count check of items and checks customer invoices of products that have been loaded
- Moves tractor to the loading dock and attaches preloaded trailer as needed
- Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule and unloads products from the trailer
- Performs damage control checks on items, scans, and contacts supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
- Verifies delivery of items with customer and obtains proper signatures
- Collects money where required
- Loads customer returns onto trailer and secures trailer doors
- Unloads damaged goods and customer returns and completes necessary paperwork
- Completes daily record of hours of service and enters in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Performs general housekeeping duties, secures all equipment and completes paperwork at the end of shift
- Performs other related duties as assigned
