Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- valid CDL-A license
- minimum 6 months tractor-trailer experience
- meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
- clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for past 3 years
- pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- pass road test
- current or ability to obtain valid DOT health card
- ability to lift and handle product cases typically ranging from 10 to 90 pounds
- willing to work Monday through Friday, 4-5 day workweek based on Hours of Service
- ability to perform physical tasks including using two-wheeler and lift gate
- have excellent communication skills for customer interaction
- ability to adhere to DOT and company safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED
- minimum 6 months tractor-trailer driving experience
- valid CDL-A license
- meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
- clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for past 3 years
- pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- pass road test
- current or ability to obtain valid DOT health card
- ability to lift and handle product cases typically ranging from 10 to 90 pounds using equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates
- preferred 1+ years foodservice distribution or tractor-trailer experience
- experience with onboard computers and electronic log systems such as PeopleNet
- experience with hand-held point of delivery scanning systems (POD)
- customer service experience
Job Duties
- perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
- follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- report all safety hazards immediately and inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- perform count check of items and verify customer invoices for loaded products, complete accurate freight paperwork
- move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
- drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule, unload products into designated customer storage areas
- perform damage control checks, scan items, report order discrepancies to supervisor, verify delivery with customer and obtain proper signatures, collect payments when required
- load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors, ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
- unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork, remove trash and unload equipment and materials from trailers as required
- complete daily record of hours of service and log according to Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- perform general housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock area, keep trailers clear and clean, secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at shift end
- perform other related duties as assigned
