The Driver position at Core-Mark plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless delivery of food and food-related products. This role is essential to supporting America’s food distribution system by maintaining high standards of safety, timeliness, and customer service. As a Driver, one must operate tractor-trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight assignments. This position offers competitive compensation, including a minimum weekly pay of $1250, potential annual earnings of $80,000 or more, accompanied by a monthly bonus opportunity up to $1600. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday with early morning dispatch times between 3:00 am and 6:00 am.
The Driver is responsible for conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards, promptly reporting any safety issues to maintain optimal vehicle and cargo conditions. They must skillfully load, unload, and verify freight with accuracy while ensuring all paperwork is completed legibly and correctly. Communication with customers, vendors, and coworkers should be professional and responsive, as this is crucial for resolving any concerns and maintaining service quality. The role also involves physically handling freight, utilizing equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates to manage products weighing between 10 to 90 pounds, depending on the location. Additionally, Drivers perform various housekeeping duties to keep their vehicles and work areas clean and organized.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 12 months experience driving tractor/trailer
- Valid CDL-A license
- Must be 21 years or older
- Meet state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
- Possess a current DOT Health Card or be able to obtain one
- Physical ability to hand-lift and use equipment to move freight weighing between 10 to 90 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent
- 12+ months tractor/trailer driving experience
- Valid CDL-A
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Attain or have valid current DOT Health Card or be able to secure new DOT Health Card
- Ability to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move and stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift
Job Duties
- Perform all required safety checks including pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
- Report all safety issues and repairs required
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Immediately report all safety hazards
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded
- Check and complete all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly
- Move tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
- Drive and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- Unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas
- Perform damage control checks on items, scan and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
- Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
- Collect money where required
- Load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors
- Ensure that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork
- Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean
- Complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned
