The position of Driver - SCM at Core-Mark is a critical role ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of food and related products. This role involves operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks on a variety of routes, including intrastate, interstate, local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes. The driver is responsible for not only transporting goods but also unloading deliveries, conducting safety checks, and maintaining adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The role requires effective communication with customers, vendors, and colleagues to provide professional service and timely information. Drivers perform pre- and post-trip inspections, report safety and repair needs, verify freight loading accuracy, handle necessary paperwork, and secure the cargo during transport. Additionally, drivers are tasked with ensuring the cleanliness and safety of their vehicles and work areas at all times. This full-time position offers a minimum bi-weekly pay of $2400, with shifts running Monday through Friday and dispatch between 3:00 AM and 6:00 AM, allowing drivers to be home nightly with weekends off. The position supports America’s vital food distribution system, playing an essential role in maintaining the supply chain in a safe and reliable manner. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 12 plus months commercial tractor trailer experience
  • valid CDL-A with minimum age 21
  • meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
  • clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
  • pass post offer drug test and road test
  • attain or have valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure new DOT Health Card
  • able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move product cases and freight of varying weights between 10 to 90 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED or equivalent

Job Duties

  • perform safety checks including pre and post trip inspections
  • report safety issues and repairs
  • follow DOT regulations and company driving guidelines
  • inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • perform count check of loaded items and verify customer invoices
  • complete all required freight paperwork accurately
  • move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer
  • drive and deliver customer orders according to schedule
  • unload products and transport to designated storage areas
  • perform damage control checks and scan items
  • verify delivery with customer and obtain signatures
  • collect payments where required
  • load customer returns and secure trailer doors
  • ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are locked and secured
  • unload damaged goods and customer returns, complete necessary paperwork
  • perform daily hours of service record and maintain log
  • perform housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock area
  • secure all equipment and complete paperwork at shift end
  • perform other related duties as assigned
