Job Description

Core-Mark, a Performance Food Group Company and part of a Fortune 150 company, is a leading distributor in the fresh and broad-line solutions sector catering to the convenience retail industry. With a robust reputation for empowering customers, employees, and communities, Core-Mark has established itself as a powerhouse in the food distribution landscape, achieving over $23 billion in revenue. Operating through numerous distribution centers, they provide an extensive range of products, programs, and tailored solutions to customers across the United States and Canada. The company emphasizes a diverse and inclusive workplace culture, offering safe environments where recognition, respect, and rewards are fundamental values. This commitment extends to providing competitive pay, day one health and wellness benefits, employee stock purchase plans, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off among other advantages. The role they offer is integral to supporting America’s food supply chain with critical delivery services performed by skilled drivers.

The Food and Food Service Delivery Driver position is vital within Core-Mark’s operation, tasked with the delivery of food and related products to customers promptly and in excellent condition. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday from 4 AM until the work is completed. Drivers typically earn between $80,000 and $100,000 annually, reflecting the importance and responsibility of the job. Candidates must hold a valid CDL-A license and be comfortable with occasional overnights, typically 1 to 2 per week. The driver will handle various routes including intrastate, interstate, over-the-road, shuttle, and drive and drop assignments, assuring compliance with Department of Transportation regulations while serving as the face of the company by maintaining professional relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers.

Key responsibilities include performing thorough safety checks on vehicles and trailers, reporting safety concerns immediately, and ensuring loads are secured correctly. Drivers will verify product counts and invoices, manage accurate paperwork, and ensure timely and safe delivery of products. Vehicles must be properly secured at all times, and drivers will conduct damage control checks, handle customer signatures and payments when required, and manage returns appropriately. The role also involves general housekeeping duties for equipment and cargo areas and maintaining detailed logs in compliance with federal and company regulations. This dynamic position supports a safe, respectful work culture and contributes directly to the reliability of Core-Mark’s food distribution system, offering opportunities for professional growth within a respected industry leader committed to equal employment opportunity and pay transparency.
