Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 6 months or more commercial driving experience
  • valid CDL-A license
  • 21 years or older
  • meet state licensing or certification requirements where applicable
  • clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
  • pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • pass road test
  • valid current DOT health card or ability to obtain one
  • able to hand-lift and use two-wheeler lift gate or other equipment for moving product cases of varying size and weight

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • commercial driving experience of 6 months or more
  • valid CDL-A license
  • age 21 or older
  • meet all state licensing or certification requirements where applicable
  • clean motor vehicle report for the past 3 years
  • pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • pass road test
  • current or obtainable DOT health card
  • able to hand-lift and utilize equipment for moving product cases
  • preferred foodservice distribution industry experience of 1 year or more
  • experience with onboard computer and electronic log systems
  • experience with handheld point of delivery scanning systems
  • customer service-related work experience

Job Duties

  • perform all required safety checks including pre and post trip inspections of tractor truck and trailer
  • report all safety issues and required repairs
  • follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • perform count check of loaded items and check customer invoices
  • complete all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly
  • move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer
  • drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
  • unload products from trailer and transport items to designated storage areas
  • perform damage control checks on items and scan deliveries
  • verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
  • collect money where required
  • load customer returns onto trailer and secure doors
  • ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are securely locked
  • unload damaged goods and customer returns
  • complete daily record of hours of service and enter log according to regulations
  • perform general housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock
  • complete all necessary paperwork and secure equipment at shift end
  • perform other related duties as assigned
