As part of a Fortune 150 company, Core-Mark has built an impressive reputation by empowering customers, employees, and communities. With over $23 billion in revenue, Core-Mark operates numerous distribution centers across the U.S. and Canada, offering a full range of products, programs, and solutions tailored to meet customer needs. The company values growth opportunities, ensuring a safe and inclusive working environment that celebrates rewards, recognition, and respect. Employees are provided competitive pay and benefits including Day 1 Health & Wellness Benefits, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K Employer Matching, Education Assistance, and Paid Time Off.
The Delivery Driver role at Core-Mark is a vital position within the company’s operations, serving as a cornerstone in America’s food supply chain. These drivers perform essential work by safely transporting food and food-related products to various customers, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining product condition and adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. In this role, drivers are more than just transporters – they are the face of Core-Mark, representing the company to customers and building lasting relationships that support customer satisfaction and company reputation.
This position offers competitive compensation, with an annual salary between $70,000 and $75,000. The drivers work a Monday through Friday schedule with dispatch times between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m., and some overnight stays are required, for which hotels and per diem expenses are provided. The role requires working collaboratively within the team and organization, handling various duties associated with product delivery and customer interaction.
Delivery Drivers use their skills to operate tractor-trailers or straight trucks safely and efficiently on both intrastate and interstate local routes. Responsibilities include performing safety inspections of vehicles and trailers before and after trips, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards. Drivers are responsible for verifying loads, securing freight, completing accurate delivery paperwork, and maintaining ongoing communication with customers, vendors, and co-workers in a professional manner.
Additionally, drivers unload deliveries, handle damaged goods, and process returns, all while upholding high standards of service and safety. Keeping the vehicle, trailer, and loading dock areas clean and organized is also part of the daily responsibilities. The role demands reliability, attention to detail, excellent record-keeping skills, and a commitment to maintaining safe driving practices. Successful candidates will also support the company’s culture of inclusion and respect by adhering to policies and regulations designed to protect everyone in the workplace.
Core-Mark’s Delivery Driver position offers not only a rewarding work experience but also the chance to grow within an industry-leading company. The company is dedicated to providing equal employment opportunities and promoting diversity, making it an ideal employer for those seeking a stable and meaningful career in logistics and food distribution.
