Job Description

Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI) is a premier transportation company serving as the exclusive transportation affiliate of Dot Foods, which is recognized as North America’s largest food industry redistributor. Headquartered with operations in Nashville, TN, and a terminal location at 223 Threet Industrial Rd, Smyrna, TN, DTI employs a fleet consisting of more than 1,500 trucks that are maintained in-house by a dedicated team of trained mechanics. Known for its family-owned and operated roots, DTI prioritizes a culture of inclusion, respect, and stability, having had zero layoffs throughout its history. The company invests heavily in its workforce by providing competitive benefits, including medical, dental, 401(k), profit sharing, and performance bonuses, along with significant advancement opportunities. DTI consistently emphasizes flexibility and work-life balance, paying for every part of the job and supporting drivers with top-tier equipment and a supportive training environment.

The role available is for a Customer Delivery Specialist who holds a Class A CDL license or is in the process of obtaining one, with pay starting up to $92,000 annually depending on experience and job type. This position offers both full-time and part-time scheduling options, including traditional schedules generally involving being dispatched 2 to 5 days per trip and typically returning home approximately 2 days per week. The job is demanding yet rewarding: drivers will experience working in all weather conditions across weekday and weekend shifts, including day and night runs. This role goes beyond just driving; it involves becoming part of a premier team that safely and efficiently transports food products from Dot Foods’ suppliers to customers and distribution centers across the region. Responsibilities include compliance with all Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, proper handling and loading/unloading of both dry and temperature-controlled goods (except in no-touch freight roles), and managing operational goals such as fuel efficiency, idle time, and speed. Physical activity is required, involving the ability to lift average weights of 14 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds, along with extended periods of sitting, walking, or standing.

DTI takes pride in its safety-first mindset and commitment to the well-being of its drivers and co-workers, with ongoing support for training and a company environment centered on mutual respect and equal opportunity employment. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about the open road who prefer the freedom of driving over an office setting, while still benefiting from the reliability and security of working for a large, family-oriented enterprise with comprehensive benefits and career growth potential. This job offers drivers the chance to truly live their dream, seeing the world from behind the wheel while being part of a reputable company that values their hard work and dedication.
