Job Description

Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI) is the exclusive transportation affiliate of Dot Foods, North America's largest food industry redistributor. With a vast fleet of over 1,500 well-maintained trucks operated by a dedicated team of trained mechanics, DTI prides itself on delivering logistical excellence while prioritizing employee well-being and job security. The company's unwavering commitment to its employees is demonstrated by a history free of layoffs and continually improving competitive benefits. DTI operates in a dynamic environment, handling various freight types across multiple schedules to meet the demands of the food distribution industry.

The open position is for a professional Class A CDL Driver based in Bullhead City, AZ, with the work location in Los Angeles, CA. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about life on the road, offering a career that respects the freedom and adventure of trucking without compromising on safety or stability. The company offers a competitive starting pay up to $89,000 for first-year drivers, depending on the job type and schedule, alongside bonus and incentive opportunities. Training pay is also included, reflecting DTI’s commitment to nurturing new talent and ensuring they have the resources to succeed.

This position supports various job types, including no-touch freight and customer delivery specialist roles. Drivers can expect to work traditional schedules, typically covering about 5.5 days per trip, with shifts spanning weekdays, weekends, day and night hours, reflecting the trucking industry's round-the-clock nature. The role demands working in all weather conditions and varying environments, requiring adaptability and resilience.

As a Class A CDL driver at DTI, your primary responsibility will be to safely and efficiently operate the company's fleet to transport products from Dot Foods suppliers to customers and distribution centers. The role involves direct product handling for most jobs, except no-touch freight positions, where loading and unloading are not required. DTI equips drivers with top-tier trucks and comprehensive training to ensure safety and operational efficiency.

This job emphasizes a safety-first approach, compliance with all Department of Transportation regulations, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration standards, and any other relevant legal requirements. Drivers will play an active role in managing company goals related to fuel efficiency, idle time reduction, speed control, and waste elimination. Additionally, understanding load paperwork and product specifics is essential, highlighting the importance of detail orientation and operational diligence.

The role requires regular physical activities, including lifting items averaging 14 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds, along with extensive periods of sitting, walking, or standing during work hours. Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a Class A CDL, hold or acquire Haz-Mat and tanker endorsements during training, and have a medical examiner certificate from a company-approved examiner. The ability to pass a physical ability test (PAT) and a safety-first mindset is mandatory.

DTI values diversity and is an equal opportunity employer, providing a discrimination-free working environment concerning sex, race, color, religion, national origin, age, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, and other protected classes. This commitment fosters an inclusive workplace where all employees can thrive.

Overall, the position promises a fulfilling experience driving some of the finest equipment in the industry, combined with a supportive company culture that values its drivers as its most significant asset.
