The opportunity available is for an OTR Class A Dry Van Owner Operator based in Texas. This role involves long haul routes running from Texas to various locations in the Western US, covering an average of 2800-3000 miles per week. The position is full-time and regular, with a substantial earning potential averaging between $200,000 to $250,000 per year. One of the valuable perks includes bi-weekly home time, supporting a balanced work-life schedule. The compensation package is competitive and includes pay for all on-duty time through hourly demurrage rates, non-asset hourly rates, and mileage pay, reflecting the company’s commitment to fairly compensate its drivers.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining Clean Harbors’ high standards for safety and environmental compliance. Owner Operators are responsible for operating tractor-trailer units safely and efficiently while ensuring proper handling and transport of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials. They must comply with all company policies, Department of Transportation regulations, and health and safety protocols. Tasks include proper loading, unloading, securing, and placarding of vehicles according to regulatory requirements. Administrative responsibilities include maintaining daily logs, invoicing, time sheets, dispatch records, trip reports, and vehicle inspection documentation.

Job Duties

  • Ensures that health and safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
  • Operates tractor trailer units
  • Adheres to weights and ensures proper utilization of the units
  • Ensures proper loading and unloading of hazardous waste/non-hazardous waste
  • Properly secures the loads
  • Placards vehicle in accordance to Company and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements/regulations
  • Maintains daily logs, invoicing, time sheets, dispatch and trip reports as well as vehicle inspection reports
