The current opening is for a Regional Class A Tanker Driver based in East Chicago, Indiana. This full-time position involves hauling materials primarily within the Midwest region, averaging 2400 miles per week. Drivers in this role enjoy competitive compensation, earning between $90,000 and $120,000 annually, which includes an hourly wage for all on-duty non-driving time plus mileage pay. A substantial $7,500 sign-on bonus is available, along with weekly home time, making this opportunity attractive for experienced tanker drivers seeking both financial reward and a balanced work-life schedule.

As a Regional Class A Tanker Driver, your primary responsibility will be to safely operate tractor trailer tanker units designed to transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials. Maintaining safety as the top priority, you will adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and Department of Transportation regulations regarding load security and vehicle placarding. This role requires diligent completion of daily logs, time sheets, expense reports, dispatch reports, and vehicle inspection reports to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

Drivers in this role must have valid Class A CDL credentials with endorsements for tanker and hazardous materials. The position demands not only driving expertise but also physical capabilities such as the ability to climb and work from heights and lift or carry weights of 50 pounds or more. Familiarity with technology, including mobile applications and computer software, is necessary to manage daily operational requirements effectively.

Clean Harbors is deeply committed to equal employment opportunity, embracing diversity, accessibility, and inclusion. They offer comprehensive health coverage shortly after full-time employment begins, a group 401(k) plan with company matching, an employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
