The position available is for a Lime Slurry Driver responsible for loading, transporting, and delivering lime slurry to customers efficiently and safely. This role requires adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and involves equipment operation and maintenance to support continuous fleet readiness. The driver will be engaged in pre and post-trip inspections, minor equipment repairs, and must demonstrate a keen understanding of safety and environmental compliance. Education and training duties may also be part of the role, including instructing contractors on safe handling practices and emergency procedures related to quicklime and slurry.
Working at Lhoist as a Lime Slurry Driver not only challenges individuals to operate in diverse environments—from city traffic to remote locations—but also supports them to thrive through comprehensive training and collaborative teamwork. Candidates must have a valid Class A CDL with a tanker endorsement, solid mechanical skills, and the ability to maintain concentration during long drives. Physical demands include working in various weather conditions, accessing elevated or confined spaces, and manual labor such as lifting over 40 pounds.
The compensation package offered is highly competitive and designed with employee well-being in mind. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with paid time off for vacation and sick leave. A notable 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with employer matching and supplemental contributions supports long-term financial security. Educational assistance encourages continued professional and personal development, ensuring that employees have the resources to grow within their careers.
