YNHHS blends state-of-the-art medical technology, a dedicated workforce, and continuous innovation to promote health and wellness across the communities it serves. Renowned for its hospital network and comprehensive care programs, YNHHS aims to support patients through empathy and professionalism in all aspects of healthcare delivery.
This role is geared towards individuals passionate about supporting patient care through essential food service operations in a hospital environment. The position involves performing routine yet vital duties associated with preparing, assembling, and delivering patient food trays to ensure that patients receive nutritious meals with accuracy and timeliness. Employees working in this role are expected to uphold YNHHS's mission by delivering services that not only meet nutritional needs but also enhance patient satisfaction through compassionate interaction and outstanding customer service.
An Ambassador 1 in this hospital food services role may be assigned to different stations or zones, depending on meal volume and scheduling, and may be involved in tasks such as food preparation, patient tray assembly, and delivery. Flexibility is required as there may be the need to float between positions within the assigned area during shifts. Responsibilities also include maintaining food safety standards, adhering to portion control guidelines, managing dietary requirements, and ensuring cleanliness in work areas according to hospital protocol.
The role demands physical activity such as standing and walking for extended periods and occasional lifting of food supplies up to 50 pounds. Employees must handle food service equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely with appropriate personal protective equipment. The position requires strong communication skills, the ability to follow verbal and written instructions, and a commitment to maintaining the hospital's sanitation and hygiene standards.
Working as part of the patient food service team at YNHHS offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to patient wellbeing in a supportive, structured environment where every action affects the healing process. It emphasizes teamwork, respect for patients, and professionalism in every interaction. This role suits individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are committed to making a positive impact on healthcare through food service excellence.
