Job Description
HHS, formerly known as Hospital Housekeeping Systems, is a private, family-owned business with a longstanding commitment to caring for its team members and delivering honest, quality-driven customer service. Founded in 1975, HHS has grown to serve nearly 1,000 customers across six diverse industries, including healthcare, housekeeping, food, and facility management services. The company prides itself on fostering a culture of growth from within, encouraging motivated leaders to rise through the ranks and nurturing a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace environment. Their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Team ensures that employees of all backgrounds feel heard, respected, and encouraged to pursue professional development and personal growth.
The role of Executive Chef within the Compliance & Integration Team at HHS is uniquely dynamic and demanding, perfectly suited for a culinary professional with a passion for leadership and travel. Known as the "Culinary Special Ops," this position involves traveling 100% of the time to various healthcare facilities, supporting new business launches and elevating food quality standards on-site. The work schedule follows a 10-days-on, 4-days-off rotation, reflecting the intensive nature of the role and its critical importance in ensuring compliance, integration, and sourcing excellence across multiple locations.
This Executive Chef will play a pivotal role in building and nurturing high-performing culinary teams that consistently produce top-quality food while adhering to the strictest safety, sanitation, and service standards. Offering entrepreneurial and creative freedom, the chef will design menus that reflect current market trends, aiming to enhance customer and patient satisfaction across healthcare environments. Beyond culinary skills, this position demands strong leadership capabilities, as the Executive Chef will be responsible for recruiting, training, developing, scheduling, and managing staff. Effective management of budgets, forecasting, inventory, ordering, production, payroll, quality control, and compliance with health and safety regulations are integral to this role.
The successful candidate will bring a wealth of kitchen expertise, exceptional communication skills, and a customer-service-oriented mindset that thrives under pressure. This role requires the ability to work collaboratively, make quick and sound decisions, and uphold business ethics consistently. The Executive Chef will exemplify professionalism, organization, and proactivity, ensuring that all operations run smoothly within fast-paced and often challenging healthcare settings.
This position encourages candidates who are passionate about culinary arts, eager to grow professionally, and willing to embrace relocation opportunities for career advancement. Fluency in additional languages, especially Spanish, as well as familiarity with OSHA, The Joint Commission, and HACCP procedures, are advantageous but not mandatory. HHS supports its employees with comprehensive benefits including paid time off, medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with employer match, employee assistance programs, and continuous career development opportunities.
Joining HHS as an Executive Chef represents a chance to be part of a respected organization that is growing rapidly while making a tangible difference within healthcare facilities through food excellence and operational leadership. Veterans and those with military experience are especially encouraged to apply, as the company values diverse experiences and backgrounds within its workforce.
