The role of Traveling Registered Dietitian at HHS, LLC offers a unique and dynamic opportunity for experienced dietitians who are passionate about clinical nutrition and ready to embrace a travel-intensive position. This role is integral to the company’s mission to provide outstanding nutritional care and support across various acute care facilities nationwide. With an annual salary range of $70,000 to $75,000, negotiable based on experience, this position demands a commitment to up to 75% travel and requires candidates to live near a major airport to facilitate frequent travel engagements. The Traveling Registered Dietitian will visit acute care facilities throughout the country to oversee all facets of meal service, medical nutrition therapy, and regulatory compliance, ensuring that nutritional standards and patient satisfaction are consistently met.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of nutrition services, including managing therapeutic diet orders, supplement formularies, and maintaining policies that ensure compliance with clinical and regulatory guidelines. You will provide vital operational support and training for facility staff, including registered dietitians and diet technicians, to enhance team competency and service quality. Your ability to build strong professional relationships within healthcare teams will be key to fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient care and nutritional deliverables. The position entails conducting thorough clinical chart audits, supporting facility RDs with nutritional assessments, and providing education to patients, families, and healthcare staff on nutritional needs.

The ideal candidate will bring at least one year of clinical Registered Dietitian experience and hold the necessary credentials such as Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN), or Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN) as per state requirements. Job Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with Commission of Dietetic Registration and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN), or Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN), as required per state regulations (RD-eligible considered)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or a related field
  • knowledge of regulatory standards
  • computer experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and various software
  • ability to travel up to 100% of the time

Job Duties

  • Hire, train, and mentor registered dietitians and diet technicians
  • perform daily inspections and competency assessments and coach and counsel team members
  • represent nutrition and dietetics department as assigned
  • guide clinical team to support patient satisfaction
  • ensure accuracy of diet and supplement orders in the medical record
  • complete clinical chart audits in accordance with corporate policy
  • support facility RDs with completion of nutritional assessments and follow ups of patients in accordance with state and regulatory guidelines
  • provide education to patients, families, nursing, dietary service, and other facility staff on nutritional needs
  • adhere to facility's policies and procedures, including confidentiality and patient rights policies
