The Customer Service Associate position is a frontline role that plays a crucial part in the overall success of the company. This role is designed for individuals who possess strong verbal communication skills, are self-motivated, and can work effectively under pressure while maintaining a high level of customer focus. Customer Service Associates are responsible for interacting directly with customers, providing fast and friendly service while ensuring the store environment remains clean and safe. This position requires a blend of customer interaction, cash handling, stock management, and adherence to security and safety protocols.

In this role, associates greet every customer promptly and courteously, providing a positive shopping experience by responding to inquiries and handling complaints in line with company policies. They develop and maintain product knowledge to assist customers effectively and offer suitable product recommendations. Cash handling responsibilities include operating point of sale equipment, processing transactions accurately, and performing till balancing at the start and end of shifts. Maintaining proper cash drawer levels is also essential.

Stock control forms a significant part of the duties, which involves receiving and stocking merchandise according to company standards, with adherence to the FIFO (first in, first out) system. Associates must ensure that products are well-presented, facing up, clean, and free from damage or expiry. Removal and accurate recording of damaged or expired stock are imperative, as is following portion control and preparation quantities to minimize loss.

Security and loss prevention are vital responsibilities, requiring associates to maintain full control of the store’s contents and use company-approved techniques to minimize theft and loss. Associates must follow all policies related to securing the premises, especially at closing time. Keeping the store spotless is also a priority, including sweeping, mopping, cleaning surfaces, customer service areas, restrooms, and the parking lot, all in line with specific sanitary standards.

Teamwork and communication are essential, as associates work closely with coworkers and different departments in a cooperative, supportive manner to achieve common goals. They assist new associates in acquiring job skills and communicate issues or concerns promptly to management. Moreover, associates fulfill occupational health and safety duties by performing tasks safely to protect themselves, customers, suppliers, contractors, and the environment. Adherence to safety policies, proper use of materials handling equipment, and prompt reporting of unsafe conditions are mandatory.

Job Requirements
