The role of a Customer Service Associate at Liberty is central to the overall success of the store. The ideal candidate will be energetic, outgoing, and self-motivated, equipped with excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction. This position requires direct interaction with customers, providing fast and friendly service and maintaining a clean and safe store environment. The Customer Service Associate is responsible for greeting customers promptly and courteously, handling inquiries and complaints in line with company policies, and offering knowledgeable product recommendations. In addition, this role involves operating point of sale equipment efficiently, processing transactions accurately, balancing cash drawers, and maintaining appropriate cash levels according to company rules. Stock control is also an essential part of the job, including receiving deliveries, stocking merchandise properly using the first in, first out (FIFO) method, and managing damaged or expired stock with attention to detail.
Security and loss prevention are crucial responsibilities for this role. The Customer Service Associate must continuously monitor the premises to prevent theft or loss and ensure all security procedures are followed during closing. Maintaining high hygiene and cleanliness standards is mandatory, including sweeping, mopping, cleaning counters and service areas, and ensuring the parking lot and restrooms remain clean. Teamwork and communication are also vital, as the associate will support colleagues, assist new employees in learning tasks, and report any issues or concerns to management promptly. Moreover, the position demands strict adherence to occupational health and safety policies to protect workers, customers, and the environment. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Ability to read, write and speak English language
- Physically capable of standing for long hours
- Pass background check
- Must be able to pass a 'Class C' operator certification
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Basic math skills for cash handling
- Knowledge of product lines and inventory control preferred

Job Duties
- Greet every customer in a quick and courteous manner
- Provide a pleasant shopping experience for all customers and respond to customer inquiries in a timely fashion
- Handle all customer complaints according to company policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain product knowledge and provide customers with product recommendations
- Operate point of sale equipment and process customer sales accurately and efficiently
- Perform till balancing as per company procedures at the start and end of each shift
- Ensure cash drawer levels are maintained according to company policies
- Receive and stock all merchandise in accordance with company policy
- Lift up to 50 pounds following proper lifting procedures
- Ensure stock is faced up, clean and presentable at all times
- Apply the FIFO system when receiving or stocking any product
- Remove damaged and/or out of date stock, accurately record and place in designated quarantine area
- Follow portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize loss
- Maintain full control of the store and its contents at all times using loss prevention techniques
- Follow company policies and procedures for securing the premises upon end of day closure
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness including sweeping, mopping floors, cleaning walls, counters, tables and service equipment
- Clean the customer service area by removing trash, cleaning restrooms and the parking lot
- Work effectively with others in a positive, supportive and cooperative manner
- Help other associates in their duties and assist new associates in learning job skills
- Communicate any issues or concerns to management in a timely manner
- Perform all duties safely and responsibly to assure workers, customers, suppliers and environment are not at risk
- Comply with all company safety policies and procedures
- Use materials handling procedures and equipment to minimize contamination or injury
- Report any unsafe practices or conditions to management and follow all safety initiatives
