The Retail General Manager role at Pilot Flying J, a subsidiary of Pilot Company, is a vital leadership position responsible for the operational management of high-volume travel centers and retail facilities. This position focuses on achieving sales and profit goals, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, and maintaining operational excellence. The Retail General Manager will be tasked with developing and executing comprehensive business plans tailored for travel centers and restaurants to meet established standards. Key responsibilities include leading and coaching teams by managing staffing, interviewing, hiring, and training, as well as fostering a culture centered on exceptional customer service. Additionally, the manager is expected to cultivate and sustain effective vendor relationships and conduct regular meetings with team members to ensure alignment with company goals. The role also requires overseeing inventory management, driving sales growth, performing profit and loss analysis, and ensuring the facility meets regulatory and quality standards. The position demands flexibility regarding work hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and day shifts, to suit the nature of the retail and travel business. The expected salary range for this position is between $54,300 and $80,750 per year. This role is suitable for individuals with proven management experience in retail, restaurant, grocery, or related service industries who are passionate about leadership, financial accountability, and customer experience excellence.

Job Requirements

  • minimum 2-3 years of management experience in the retail, restaurant, grocery or other service industry with responsibility for financial results
