Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital is a premier full-service acute care medical facility located in the rapidly growing Woodlands area of Texas. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education preferred
- One year of customer service, patient transportation or nursing aid experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association within 90 days
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, family members, physicians and coworkers
- Ability to safely operate transport equipment such as wheelchairs, stretchers and beds
- Demonstrated understanding of isolation, infection control and safety procedures
- Ability to follow HIPAA guidelines for patient privacy
- Willingness to work evening shifts and be on-call during emergencies
- Required to wear scrubs and adhere to department approved attire
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education preferred
- One year of customer service, patient transportation or nursing aid experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association within 90 days
- Demonstrated proficiency in English for reading, writing and communication
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams
- Knowledge of safe patient handling techniques and infection control practices
Job Duties
- Transport acute, intensive and critical care patients safely by wheelchair, transcart, stretcher or bed
- Assist in preventing patient falls by using appropriate lifting equipment such as Hover Mat/Jack
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and coworkers regarding transport logistics and delays
- Deliver patient room furnishings and transport empty beds as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and disinfect transport equipment before and after each use
- Ensure patient privacy and safety during all transport activities
- Document transport assignments accurately following departmental protocols
