Job Requirements

  • Minimum three years transportation leadership experience preferably in food manufacturing or airport logistics
  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, Operations Management or related field preferred
  • Ability to meet requirements for PANYNJ ID per TSA regulations
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience with transportation and ramp safety operations and DOT compliance
  • Strong planning, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of transportation safety in high-security environments preferred
  • Hands-on leadership style
  • ability to coach and motivate teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office
  • experience with dispatch or fleet software a plus
  • Flexible to work nights, weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Oversee daily operations across transportation, logistics, dispatch, and general operations
  • Plan, forecast, and schedule transportation activities
  • Coordinate dispatching operations to ensure on-time deliveries and support flight schedules
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to meet delivery and flight service standards
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations including traffic laws, weight limits, and hours-of-service
  • Supervise, train, and mentor drivers and driver helpers
  • Develop and implement training programs and manuals for vehicle and ramp safety
  • Monitor driver schedules and conduct field coaching
  • Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy, fueled, and compliant with DOT, OSHA, and internal standards
  • Address vehicle malfunctions and coordinate maintenance with Fleet Manager
  • Reinforce ramp safety SOPs and support safety culture
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with airline, airport, port authority, and federal regulations
  • Maintain accurate transportation activity records
  • Serve as escalation point for transportation and dispatch issues
  • Perform additional duties assigned by Operations Manager
