Job Description
MOVA is an independent state agency governed by the Victim and Witness Assistance Board dedicated to advancing victim rights across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The agency plays a critical role in ensuring that all victims and survivors of crime are supported and empowered by providing access to high-quality services that are trauma-informed and culturally responsive. MOVA is deeply committed to reflecting the diverse communities it serves by engaging in survivor-informed work, advocating for enhanced victim rights and services, and building strong partnerships with other agencies and individuals. Additionally, MOVA focuses on providing funding and services targeted specifically at underserved and marginalized communities, showcasing its commitment to equity and inclusion within the victim services sector.
MOVA is currently seeking a highly detail-oriented and creative individual to join its External Engagement team as a Training and Event Coordinator. This role is dynamic and essential to the agency's mission as it manages the logistical coordination of community education opportunities targeted at Massachusetts victim services providers, survivors, and allied professionals. The Training and Event Coordinator will be primarily responsible for planning and delivering MOVA’s training and event initiatives across multiple teams, ensuring consistent and effective outreach and brand presence. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about relationship building and committed to the mission and values of MOVA.
The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, capable of thoughtful execution and management of deliverables. They will be expected to skillfully manage their time and workload to maintain high standards across various organizational initiatives. This non-managerial, non-exempt position offers a salary of $60,000 annually and operates on a hybrid work schedule requiring in-office presence initially for two days a week for the first three months and then transitioning to two days per month, complemented by frequent travel throughout Massachusetts. Travel includes site visits to MOVA office locations and attendance at community-based events, with occasional overnight requirements.
This role is fundamental in advancing MOVA’s statewide recognition as a primary training resource. Tasks include managing logistics for annual victim rights events, the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance Training Academy, and other statewide initiatives such as SAFEPLAN trainings and New Advocate Trainings. The coordinator will also support materials preparation, serve as the communications liaison for vendors and presenters, compile and analyze program evaluations, and maintain strong relationships with external partners, survivors, and the wider community to foster a reliable network of trainers and speakers. The position requires proficiency in Microsoft Office and video communication platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams, highlighting the agency’s emphasis on integrating technology with community engagement.
MOVA encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds, reflecting the agency's dedication to inclusivity and equal opportunity. Overall, this position offers a meaningful opportunity to make a significant impact within a respected state agency devoted to upholding the rights of victims and survivors across Massachusetts through education, empowerment, and community collaboration.
