Job Requirements

  • 6+ years experience in customs/trade compliance
  • Proven experience managing large US import compliance programs
  • Familiarity with external vendor management including carriers and transportation companies
  • Proficiency in Excel and SAP or other ERP systems
  • Strong analytical and classification skills
  • Ability to develop KPI reports
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a hybrid work environment in Austin, TX

Job Qualifications

  • 6+ years in customs/trade compliance managing large US import compliance programs for professional service, Fortune 500, high tech companies, large shipping, transportation, supply chain companies
  • Experience with classification of imports for US
  • Proficiency in Excel and SAP or other large ERP systems for classification and driving KPI/data analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills for stakeholder management and reporting
  • Knowledge of trade classification tools such as GRIs, CROSS rulings, and WCO explanatory notes

Job Duties

  • Support the clients global trade classification program and other classification teams globally
  • Conduct classification analysis to arrive at an accurate HTS by using various trade tools such as GRIs, CROSS rulings, WCO explanatory notes, and other classification tools
  • Maintain and monitor previous part classifications in SAP-GTS to ensure consistent and valid tariff numbers
  • Monitor, measure and develop reports with key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Evaluate new government requirements and partner with regional teams to ensure import compliance
  • Perform global classification and duty analysis on clients products
  • Lead global classification audits and root cause any errors
  • Manage classification specific projects as assigned
  • Create and maintain process and procedures
  • Create effective and clear communication with stakeholders (emails, presentations, etc.)
