Reporting directly to the Executive Chef and classified as a part-time role with a compensation rate of $22.50 per hour, this position holds significant responsibilities in food preparation and kitchen operations at Toyota Arena, a facility covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The Kitchen Cook must be prepared to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, demonstrating efficiency, organization, and strong teamwork. Safety and sanitation are paramount, alongside the ability to manage heat and stress typical in a busy kitchen.
The role involves preparing a wide variety of foods including meat, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and cold items, while adhering strictly to portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality standards. The Kitchen Cook will set up stations, maintain supply levels, properly label and store food, and ensure the cleanliness and sanitary status of the entire kitchen environment. This role also includes assisting with closing procedures, waste control, and food safety compliance. Additional duties may be assigned by the Executive Chef or Chef.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED, and preferably have a minimum of one year of food service experience. Flexibility, urgency, and resourcefulness in responding to both internal and external challenges are essential. The position requires excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and capacity to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. A Serv Safe food handler’s certification is mandatory and is supported by the company through training and compensation for course time.
The physical demands include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds, often for extended periods during events. Legends Global promotes diversity and equal opportunity, encouraging applicants from all backgrounds and providing accommodations when needed. This position offers a unique chance to join a leading global company, contributing to memorable live event experiences while advancing one’s culinary career in an inclusive and supportive environment.
