Job Description
The Grandover Resort & Spa, a Wyndham Grand Hotel, is a premier destination located in the scenic Piedmont region of North Carolina, known for its luxurious accommodations, world-class golf courses, and exceptional guest services. As a leading establishment within the Wyndham Hotel Group, the resort prides itself on providing memorable experiences through its diverse amenities, including a top-rated spa, multiple dining venues, and extensive recreational opportunities. The resort embraces a vibrant culture focused on hospitality, inclusiveness, and professional excellence, making it an ideal place for guests and employees alike. With a commitment to sustainability and community involvement, The Grandover Resort & Spa stands as a beacon of quality and luxury in the hospitality industry.
The role of Tournament and Events Coordinator at The Grandover Resort & Spa is a dynamic and integral position aimed at elevating the resort's golf and recreational offerings. The ideal candidate is passionate about golf, highly organized, and proactive in managing both tournament logistics and recreational activities. This coordinator will be responsible for comprehensive administration of golf tournaments — from on-site setup and rules officiating to scoring and player communications. Additionally, the role encompasses aspects of media and marketing related to tournaments, including social media management, photography, and disseminating tournament results. This multi-faceted position also involves sales activities, such as marketing digital on-course advertisements, and logistical duties like ordering tournament supplies and maintaining inventory. Attentiveness to guest experience is crucial, ensuring that all recreational areas including the pool and games area on Griffin lawn are clean, safe, and guest-ready daily.
Furthermore, the Tournament and Events Coordinator will manage volunteers for events and actively participate in wider resort initiatives, contributing to the overall success and guest satisfaction at The Grandover Resort & Spa. This role involves collaboration with multiple departments, requiring excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with internal teams and external partners. Candidates should be equipped with strong knowledge of golf rules and competition formats, familiarity with software tools including Golf Genius and EZ Links, and the capability to lead public presentations. Adeptness at managing golf calendars and tee sheets for reservation and shop coordination is essential.
Working at The Grandover Resort & Spa offers a competitive benefits package for full-time employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid life insurance, disability coverage, and retirement plans with company match. The resort also promotes work-life balance with paid time off, paid holidays, and additional perks like pet insurance, an employee cafeteria with discounts, weekly paychecks, employee hotel discounts across Wyndham properties, and a uniform allowance. This comprehensive compensation package reflects the resort’s commitment to supporting its team members and fostering a positive workplace environment.
As part of a reputable hospitality brand, the Tournament and Events Coordinator position is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to advance their career in sports and event management within a luxury resort setting. The Grandover Resort & Spa offers a stimulating work environment where passion for golf and dedication to guest service are rewarded and encouraged.
