Oak View Group's reputation for excellence and strategic growth makes it a sought-after employer for professionals aiming to advance their careers in event management and operational leadership.
The Private Events Manager position at Oak View Group is a full-time role based at the Ken Garff University Club, part of the University of Utah campus. With a competitive yearly salaried rate ranging from $55,000 to $60,000 and eligibility for bonuses, this role offers both financial reward and professional fulfillment. Starting on or after July 1, 2026, this position involves leading the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale, complex private events from the post-contract phase through to final settlement, ensuring seamless event delivery and operational excellence.
The role requires the Private Events Manager to serve as the central point of coordination across multiple departments, including culinary, operations, audiovisual, and facility teams, aligning cross-functional communication to maintain superior event standards. The manager is tasked with overseeing event logistics, staffing plans, production requirements, and scheduling, ensuring every detail aligns with client expectations and venue capabilities. This includes developing event layouts and floorplans, managing timelines, budgets, and financial reconciliation, and identifying operational efficiencies to mitigate risks.
Beyond day-to-day operational management, the Private Events Manager is responsible for mentoring junior event staff, supporting sales efforts for client retention and repeat business, and communicating event outcomes and recommendations to senior leadership. The role demands a strategic mindset, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays is essential, as is the capability to handle physical aspects of the job, such as moving heavy furniture and equipment. Comprehensive benefits include a 401(k) savings plan with matching, providing a well-rounded employment package.
This position is ideal for experienced event management professionals who have worked in stadiums, arenas, convention centers, or similar environments, and who possess a solid understanding of complex event logistics, production, and financial oversight. Joining Oak View Group at the Ken Garff University Club means being part of a prestigious team dedicated to excellence in private event management and operational success within an iconic university venue environment.
