The company proudly serves an impressive collection of seven world-class owned venues and maintains a client portfolio that includes some of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. This international footprint exemplifies OVG's commitment to excellence and innovation in shaping the live entertainment industry worldwide.
The Texas Tech Club, located in Lubbock, Texas, is part of the Oak View Group's expansive venue management network. Nestled near East Stadium at 2508 6th St., Suite 417, this prestigious venue offers premium hospitality services, catering to a diverse range of guests including sports fans, event attendees, and private functions. As a part-time prep cook position within The Texas Tech Club, this role plays a crucial part in delivering high-quality food experiences to guests, directly influencing guest satisfaction and the overall reputation of the venue.
The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing a variety of hot and cold food items according to the company's recipes and portioning standards. Beyond just food preparation, the role demands adherence to strict sanitation, health, and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment. The prep cook is expected to actively participate as a team player, contributing to the successful smooth operation of the kitchen during fast-paced and often event-driven settings. This position requires consistent and dependable attendance to accommodate the fluctuating schedule dictated by event needs. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $12.00 to $16.00, making it an attractive option for individuals seeking part-time employment in a dynamic hospitality environment.
In this role, the prep cook will also collaborate closely with kitchen leadership, including the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Supervisor, to assist in menu planning and estimating food consumption for events. The position encompasses responsibilities such as testing food for proper cooking, portioning and garnishing plates, and reporting any kitchen equipment maintenance needs to ensure uninterrupted service. The ideal candidate will bring prior experience as a cook or prep cook, proficiency in operating standard kitchen equipment like broilers, steamers, convection ovens, mixers, meat slicers, and chef knives, along with a valid food handling certification if required by regional regulations. ServSafe certification is preferred, aligning with Oak View Group's high standards for food safety and quality.
Oak View Group prides itself on fostering a diverse, inclusive workplace culture that embraces different backgrounds and perspectives to drive innovation and excellence in service delivery. As an equal opportunity employer, OVG commits to providing employment opportunities free from discrimination for all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected class.
