Job Description
Oak View Group (OVG) is a global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, delivering an unmatched venue experience through its expansive platform that covers venue development, management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. Since its inception in 2015, Oak View Group has become a renowned name in the entertainment industry, managing and operating a collection of seven world-class venues. Their client roster includes iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions spread across four continents, emphasizing their commitment to delivering high-quality experiences to diverse audiences worldwide.
One of OVG's flagship venues is the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts, a state-of-the-art facility located in downtown Greensboro, North Carolina. The Tanger Center has been pivotal in revitalizing Greensboro's cultural scene since its grand opening in 2021. It hosts a wide array of live entertainment, including touring Broadway productions, concerts, performances by the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra, comedy shows, and family entertainment events. The venue has welcomed over 1.4 million guests, standing out as a premier destination for live performance arts. Plus, events like the First Bank Broadway Series, presented in partnership with Nederlander and Professional Facilities Management (PFM), rank among the nation’s top-selling one-week Broadway series, highlighting the venue's prominence on a national scale.
At the Steven Tanger Center, the Premium Bartender role plays a vital part in shaping the guest experience by providing professional and personable beverage service. This regular part-time position offers an hourly wage ranging from $15.00 to $17.00, plus eligibility for tips. The Premium Bartender exclusively serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, ensuring that guests receive prompt and courteous service in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Bartenders at the venue are expected to demonstrate excellence in guest interaction, teamwork, and appearance according to company standards. Responsibilities include following detailed bar pre-shift notes and menus, adhering strictly to state and federal regulations when serving alcohol, and possessing a sound knowledge of diverse beer, wine, and spirit varieties to suggestively upsell products. The role requires precision in handling drink portions, verifying guest identification for alcohol purchase compliance, and managing potentially difficult guest situations, including discerning when to cut off a guest or seek managerial assistance.
Premium Bartenders also take on operational duties such as balancing cash drawers, restocking inventory, and maintaining clean and sanitary workstations with well-maintained equipment. They may assist in bar set-up and breakdown during events to ensure smooth service delivery. This role offers an opportunity to work within an enthusiastic, guest-first culture while gaining experience in a renowned live entertainment venue.
In addition to competitive pay and tips, part-time employees benefit from a 401(k) savings plan with company matching, highlighting Oak View Group’s investment in the long-term financial wellbeing of its team members. The company values diversity and inclusivity, actively fostering an environment where varied backgrounds are celebrated as a catalyst for innovation and excellence.
For individuals passionate about hospitality and the live entertainment industry, the Premium Bartender position at the Steven Tanger Center provides a compelling opportunity to engage with thousands of guests, contribute to premier events, and be part of a global leader in venue management. The role demands flexibility to work nights, weekends, and extended hours as required by event schedules, demanding adaptability and a strong work ethic. This position remains open until July 24th, 2026, inviting candidates who aspire to thrive in a vibrant, community-centered entertainment hub.
